I've got more of that s##t around here than I can shake a stick at and what we have found is for the few cents you save at the pump you lose more in mileage. Craps not worth the effort or expense. Alcohol seamed to improve all around performance in my Duramax but not my gas engines.
That's right you do lose mileage, but it's because of the octane rating it needs compression, just like running race gas with 8 to 1 it don't work for $hit, same with Propane!.... I agree it's not worth it unless you build a motor for it!..

I was at Big River a few weks ago with some friends and we were floating down and there was a BOULDER BAR under the water didn't get the boat fired in time and had to go for the ride. Well it hit the skeg on one boulder and knocked it loose from the floor and the prop shaft found another BOULDER and when it hit it well know its a little crooked.

Where we will be in Sept there will be no issue with the level of the water.
We will be above the Indian Diversion Dam and the water level there is not a problem.

Well if it is the Pink CJ 812, That would be Ralph Brunt. I am not sure what hull it is, It is either a Liberty or some thing really close.

Probably a "Len Metz" HORNET. Libertys and the Carerra 20' are off of that Hornet (with a longer pointed deck) bottom. (10 1/2 degrees with rocker in the keel) Does that boat have "built in gauge bezels"? The dash actually had risers for the gauges, at an angle in the hull. The "belt line" and "Bezer combing", makes me believe that is what it is.
boatpoor
07-23-2008, 06:12 AM
Thats a good looking boat, wonder who has the mold` for that boat. I bet it would make a KILLER V-DRIVE!

A lot of 'jet boats' were off of that Hornet, because they ran well at the races. It's shallow V (10 1/2 degrees) and rocker bottom really made the boat fly on the straights and tuck (trip chines) in the turns. We had a 19' mold that Len built and did a few V-drives out of it. Put a (12") delta pad in it and they ran very well. Just a little too low (freeboard) and a little too short (19' 8") for a GN boat. I don't think I would ever go with a delta pad in GN though, rides too tail heavy. It does have a 'round keel, so that too would need to be changed for GN. Great river killer! Easy 110MPH with 950HP.
boatpoor
07-24-2008, 06:25 AM
So you built a couple 19`s, how did they run and what kind of power did you put in them. I saw one of these at the Kings river a while back, I think it was yellow. Whats the story with the round bottom?
gfinishline
07-24-2008, 06:40 AM
If you saw one at the Kings River, how did it run? We did three white ones, (and a few other colors) and maybe they got painted, I don't know. Will you ever answer my PM about WHO YOU ARE? Or will you just "ask questions of me and not answer any"?

I've recieved two back stating they weren't the person I was looking for. Just waiting for the right one to check his mail. It is hard to say right now. It could be anywhere from four to fourteen. It all depends on what days my siblings can make it and what day the breakfast is on. I have a feeling if we bring that many people that we will make sure to bring along a load of extra food.
For now just figure out when it will be, and I will try and figure the number of family that can be there.

Yahoo posted about it and my folkes were worried, so ill let you know about the good stuff we are doing.
I am stationed at (FOB Salerno). We had a VBIED (vehical born improvised explosive device) hit our gate..... No casulties, minor injuries. Same night we had a group of people that wanted to die for "ge-hawd" and we provided that means to them. Couple notches on our stick and took their stick from them with no injuries to my team, and no major injuries to the American forces.

The real question is, are you planning to keep it or just make it run and sell it? They can be fun play toys if you already own a v-drive.
You are kidding right,LMAO!..:D. As soon as I make sure there are no problems with it, it's going down the road hopefully to be replaced with a "V-Drive" ski boat!..:D

well if you're going to sell it, just hand the GPS to one of the V-drives. Have them make a pass. Take back the GPS and pose sitting in the jet with the GPS showing over 100MPH. After all you don't want the only jet boat that won't run 100. :D Any thoughts on what you're going to ask for it?

There are several thing going that weekend so there should be tons of boats every where. Board members from here are going to Echo Lodge resort from the 13-21, Castle Rock Resort is having there Boat and Car Show Sat 13, The Schiada Not Regatta is also the weekend of the 13-14. There are othere events in Needles and in Havasu also.
So you itenerary is what ever you want to do and how much you want to do. As for the Board members get together there is no itenerary and it is a run what you brung, do what you want to do, show up when you want and leave when you want to leave type of thing, You Make the Call.

Thanks Art for the ass chewing and the compliment. The long block is from Ed Smith's speed shop/Five Star engine in Glendale. I will have to check but I believe 10:1 compression with a Comp Cams 268 grind Hyd cam.
I have torn the front end if the truck down for two reasons. Cleaning and painting. The engine compartment will be painted Wimbeldon White. And ease of installation.
I am going to pull the tranny this week, clean it up, change the filter and modulator and when the engine goes back in the tranny will be attached as will the starter and headers.
Art, any news on the C10?

Sounds like it'll be a cool piece when you're done!..
The C10 along with the GN is on hold till I get settled in the new place, too much work to do getting this place ready to sell!. I did pick up a 72 for the chassis, it's a bolt on deal and I'll have disc brakes and leaf's in the back, way easier than converting the 66 chassis, so I got all the body parts for sale!...

You'll get a faster and correct answer just calling them lol
I have gotten there at 9am w/ a 2pm check-in time. You can just hang around the park or get a day pass? I did that once . There is a chance that someone will be in your space still if you get there early, before check-in. If no one is in it they will charge you for another day for early ckeck-in :( It may all depend on who you get at the desk though too.

I'm in UL 8, check the map on Echo's web site.
There's a big turnaround at the end of the road so the trailer is no problem, follow the upper road to the end, turn around and park next the short wall on the right hand (West) side by our place. If there is no one in your spot they may just let you on early. I would just drive in past the store unless the manager happens to be there and stops you. They usually stop people on hoiliday weekends only.
What's your phone #?
