Hi All I'm new here (But Old in the World) . AFTER telling my wife, No more Projects.(that lasted 3 months). I saw this on Craiglist And bought it.Now what do I have???? I hope I will be accepted as a v-drive nut and not just a nut. Any help identifying this boat would be greatly appreciated. I have to have an answer to my wife that this has value just as I have had to do many times in the past!!!

I can't tell you what make hull you have but what I can tell you is, you have quite a project on your hands !! Wood deck v-drives are very desirable and beautiful but often it's not easy getting your money back out of them when restored. There are a couple guys on this site that are wood deck experts and surely can help you with identifying your hull. John Miller and Harlan Orrin come to mind. Both visit this site.

Welcome aboard, that could be a cool boat but it is one big project and it will take a bundle to bring it back to new condition, just so you're aware before you jump in!..

Looks like someone set this baby up for some serious racing with the cavatation setup on the angle . Must of made alot of torque. Does anyone know who made the hardware? Are the two handles in front of the drivers seat for the cav. plate and trans? Cool boat back in the day. Congrads.

The one straight up is to put the top loader in gear, the other is for the plate!. I doubt very much that boat ever seen more than 60mph!..

I think new members need to be given a week or so to find out just how nuts the crowd here can get. I made a comment about swamp moss and the guy got offended. Let them get settled and hooked and then unload with both barrels is my opinion, Just a thought

Are there any #s burned into the top of the stringers at the transom?
lets figure out what he's got!

Well, the last time i guessed on a "what is it" i was right so here goes. I have seen woody Raysons that look very similar. There may be a tag under the deck on the left stringer. Just my best guess and it's not just cuz' i own a Rayson.:D. Not sure of the year though 66,67 or so.:)

Hi again. Thanks for all the replies.Any help with info is not only appreciated but very much needed at this point. As a matter of fact anyone out there that is Bored and can't find anything to do for the next 2 years,I will let you help me???? LOL .The man I bought this from said it had a Mahogany deck that needed work.So He removed it!!!!!,He put sheet of plywood down and glassed over it. I wish he didn't,but that's the way it goes.I guess the engine I have setting in my garage .(attached)Might be a little overkill for this hull. Also not knowing what this boat is does not help figure out things like,w
here did any gas tank go and was it set up with over trasom exhaust, as i can not find any place that has been drilled out for these.Sorry about the rambling.I just got back from Radiation and i'm a little scrambled.
Keep the info flowing and I can return the favor It would be great

hi again I could not find any numbers at trasom on stringers,But did see numbers bleeding through the fiberglass that has worn thin on the left rear corner just before the transom.Tere are 3 lines the two top ones I can't read but the bottom is clear #7115104

I know what it is as I've had several like it...... It's called a DISASTER!
But seriously folks..... there are no pics of the nose profile (front quarter shot) no pictures of the inside of the hull (is it a molded glass boat or GOW?)
hardware? v-drive? What does the paperwork say it is?
History really isn't all that important to building a nice piece...... It's more important what the quality and condition are and IF it was built right enough the first time to be worth the effort. If this is for resale after fixup, I would say DON't DO IT! YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR MONEY BACK
DO IT FOR YOURSELF ONLY!

yes AzDon is right it really is a DISASTER!!!! . All the things you should not do to a boat hull, Has been done to yhis one.But then again I'm past the age of normal thinking and reasoning,so I think I will build yhis one for Myself. Mymy wife said she would like to make a planter out of it and put it right next to some other great projects I have going.
The hull is GOW but the top deeck is/was wood..The papers say it is a 1982 SPCNS.Which means the state of ca. couldn't figure it out neither.
