Stubborn coupler

I give--what is the trick/tool/prayer involved in getting this loose. I need to pull the shaft to chand the log seal. No more packing style for me, I just can't get it right and can't stand water under the floorboard.:confused::confused:

Undo all the allens or 12 point whatever you have. turn two of them around and run them thru the holes and spread the coupler apart with them. Tap the coupler with a dead blow hammer and the shaft should pull out.

Is it a split type coupler or a flange type like I have.

You guys are starting to make me look pretty smart. I know better. If it's put together right one should not have to beat the #@$^%$ out it to take it apart. You made it into a simple task and I thank you.:):):):)
