New to the site as well as to boating.
Over the next year I'd like to purchase a v drive and put a BBF and C6 trans in it. I'd like a 4 passenger capability. This boat will be used for sking, tubing, and cruising the lakes of Colorado.
About 25 years ago, I went boating with a friend that had a v drive with a Blown, NOS, BBC and Turbo 400, V drive. It had back to back bench seats, I think it was about 23-26' long.
I'm sure over the course of this dream/assembly, I will have many questions that I'll ask this group.
My first questions at this point are,
1. Hull Design, I've read about Flat Bottoms, Runners with different numbers, such as 9/16, or 1/2" runners. What do these designs look like and what are the ones to stay away from?
2. I notice pics of some boats that have the V drive up between the front seats, I believe that the further the v drive is forward, the better I just don't know why.
Well I have other questions, but I'll stop for now and see how this goes. As I'm a big boy, I can take criticism as well as positive vibes equally well.
Nice site, and a lot of info to read.
Thanks
Roger
