Hi all! I was hoping somebody out there could help me identify what appears to be a GM bell housing part. In this photo appears to be a 2" deep adapter between the block and motor plate attaching the block to the motor plate at the flywheel area. This part appears to be exactly what i need to make the motor plates work on my syndicate resto based on the existing plate locations on the stringers and the bolt pattern of my motor plate that came with the basket o $hit of boat parts. Thanks for any help you can offer. ( i can't believe i actually got the photo attached, maybe there's hope for me yet)

"Sic" that is an "early IRON powerglide adapter ring". Back in the (55/56/57 & 58 in trucks) it mated the old iron powerglide and Hydramatic to Chevy motor bolt patterns. If you can't find one, I can make an aluminum one for you. Didn't someone here (a few weeks ago) post that they had some of these, "in stock"? It actually is able to mount the old style starter, I prefer to "cut it" and use the late block style starter. PS, it will only cover a small diameter flex or flywheel. (10.5 style VS 11")

I have one for the Stevens project. There isn't really all that much to them.

I remember when the Pomona/Long Beach swap meets had them stacked up all over the place couldn't give them away, I've seen people just leave them there when they left, LOL, now they're worth a ton!. Glad I have one and it ain't goin no where!..:D

We find them hiding on eBay every once in a while. Unfortunately the last two we purchased were both cracked. We have the powerglide adapter search on speed-dial.
$100 is not a terrible price for one. And if you need it right now, I don't see why not.

Yes! That are a great item for a boat. They keep the flywheel from throwing the water that was sitting in the bottom of the boat all over everything.
