View Full Version : My First V-Drive

I was in the middle of a jet boat project and found an old V-drive listed on Craigslist in my area. I always thought the V-drives were cool and couldn't resist the urge to call about the boat and go take a look. The price was right so I brought the boat home on my jet boat's trailer. Overall the hull is pretty stripped down, but all of the important parts like V-drive, prop shaft, cav. plates, skegs, prop and rudder are there and in pretty good condition. I've decided that I like the shape and style of boat much more than my jet boat project (other than it's much rougher) and that I'm ready to abandon the jet boat project and use it's hardware, engine and trailer for the V-drive. I've never even been in a V-drive, but there's just something about them that is more appealing to my interests than a jet or any other type of boat for that matter. I posted some pictures in the identification forum and would appreciate any comments or feedback anyone has. I didn't get a title with the boat and I can't find any hull identification numbers. I think it might be a Diamond Custom Boats hull, but I'm not sure and definitely don't know what year the hull was made. Thanks in advance for any input you might provide.

eball429,

I see that you made it over here.

This is a very informative group and I can see that you have received more answers for you boat project than on Banderlong.

Napabob,

Thanks for the recommendation! I'm glad I joined this site and I'm afraid I'm already hooked on V-drives. The jet boat leaves the garage this weekend and the V-drive is moving in.
