i have a top loader v drive in my mandella 66. i am going to change it to a 12 degree casale round ones. how much is involved in this, is there certain v drive to get for my boat. how easy is it to put different gears in the newer casales.

Not a big deal, plug up the holes in the stringers and start over, if you're putting a used one in you may have to make a new plate depending on the width of the stringers???, just line it up and make brackets accordingly and bolt it up, trim the plate to your liking!.. Changing gears in a split case is easy, just pop the front case and slide the gears out they are splined!..

OK Art, you know what you meant, I know, and a lot of others here know, but I think he needs a little more instruction on a split case gear change. Gasket sealer?.....(see?)..........Gasket thickness?........Bearing shims?............Bearing puller, (penny).........Case slides up lower shaft to come off?....
