View Full Version : Removing Paint from Inside Hull

I recently stripped the inside of my sanger of all the hardware to clean up the inside. The previous owner painted in inside of the hull and the floors with a hideous blue.
Any recommendations to getting this paint off the fiberglass? I know of chemical strippers, but am wary of it eating the paint and fiberglass. What would be the best way to do this job right? Thanks

More than likley the last artist did not prep the inside as well as one would prep for paint on the outside of the hull. I would fire up the preassure washer and in a small area see what might blow off. I could be a start.

The pressure sprayer was going to be our first step. Our neighbor just dropped us off a bloated 5 gallon can of aircraft paint remover:eek:. He said it would work good! I don't doubt him. I think we'll use the less caustic means first.

There are strippers that don't attack fiberglass, should say on the container!.. might want to check with the fiberglass people though to make sure which is the best!..

Ya, a visit is in order to Kelly More tomorrow. The pressure sprayer took about half the paint off - and it was really slow. Thanks for the tips!
