I just got a racing crackerbox P-6 in for restoration. It was built in the late '50s early '60s. It will need a complete rebuild.

Cool Harlan, I'm currently making a crackerbox promotional video and had to dig deep into my books to find the exact history on crackers. Very interesting.
Hopefully you'll keep us posted stocked up with resto pics. ;)

I remember something years ago that said the original crackers were used to haul moonshine in huge bow tanks and they outran anything the revenue agents had might be a touch of urban legend kinda cool either way.

Harlan,
I've only seen pictures of these boats on the water running and they look cool as hell.
Can you share some pictures of this project with us?
Thanks in advance.
Keith

These boats are starting to get out of the west and are starting to show up here in the east. P-77 Animal Crackers is here in Panama City Florida. I tried to get the man who owns it to let me store it for him but it sat outside (covered) most of last winter. I did though give him a cool heavy shrink wrap cover that comes on new MasterCrafts to cover it up with.
I also offered to purchase it from him, it is in running condition.

Animal Crackers was owned and raced by Dave Kahn out of the SFV ( known as "THE VALLEY" in Californiaspeak) for several years in the 1990's. I remember that it ran pretty good.

The Boat is sitting behind a antique shop off of Harrison (down town)
in Panama city Florida. The guy that owns the boat play's with it once a year or so.
He could be talked out of it if he could get his hands on a old BRR inboard ( I think that was the class designation) boat with the Crosly power plant. He told me that they ran the BRR class mostly around south Lousiana. Any way P-77 still looks good and even though he leaves it out side he does take good care of it. I have made him a offer on the boat but at this point he is happy with his investment. Wont stop me from bugging him to sell it though!

Well, at least he's taking care of it that's the main thing, would be nice to get a hold of it though!..
