Does anyone here reside in Texas? Has anyone here heard of or done business with "Lone Star Classics"? I am wondering about one of their products and it's quality. Thanks! "DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS!"

They make fiberglass car bodies and kits. I like the price of their "32 roadster body", but I don't know anything about them. I'm trying to move out some of my cars and trucks in the driveway, and when I do..... I might build a Hot Rod, after I finish one of the new 22's. I've got motors and trans. and lots of stuff. Looking ahead, to next year. Thanks for asking.

I bet that it is something to do with Gay paraphernalia or something more vul
gar! Remember, there are only two things that come out of Texas(steers and queers).

Truth be known, there are really only two kinds of people. Those that are from Texas, and those that wish they were.

Been keeping an eye on you all, but having to type with my left hand only has kept me from butting in with my usual unsolicited 2 cents worth. Had to have shoulder surgery... to many crashes, building and hammering on stuff has taken it's toll, according to the Doc.
Had to reply to the Texas comments though. Only lived there briefly in the military, but through boat racing made some great friends in Texas. I think every official of the SDBA came up to say Hi and welcome at Waco when we raced there. But, we have great boat race people in California also, the CVDBA especially. It was the people in Texas I met outside of racing who impressed me with their warmth, interest and help. One example was the time we lost a rocker arm on the tow truck outside a biker bar in the middle of nowhere Texas, late at night. The whole bar, looked like the cast from a Hell's Angel movie, emptied out to check us out. A guy ended up pulling a rocker off his big block Chevy truck and giving it to us. Wouldn't take a cent for it.
I somehow can't see that happening outside a TGIF Fridays in Burbank.:D

Bill, Sorry to hear your laid up, was wondering why I hadn't seen you on the boards... I think what you wrote is pretty much true everywhere once you get outside the large urban areas and even then there are exceptions. Hope you have a speedy recovery...:D

George, I got to thinking about it and I think a friend of mine built a Cobra kit from Lone Star, he even finished it. I'll give him a call and see if I can get some info. It's been a few years back but he did a lot of research so even if it wasn't them I'm sure he'll have some info on them. He's hard to get a hold of sometimes so it might take a couple of days.

Everyone should know that I look things over around here quite often..... The Texas remark was uncalled for and, frankly, kind of antisocial when used in an anonymous environment like this one. It would be more appropriate to make that "steers and queers" comment in person where there is real danger if someone is offended!
Since it is not my job to arrange face-to-face confrontations, you all should know that antisocial behavior can result in your IP addresses being banned if someone takes offense and complains.
RANT OVER!---

Upon re-reading boatpoor's post, I've unilaterally decided that he is not going to be posting here until he better identifies himself and arranges to make some apologies.
If anybody has any other complaints regarding boatpoor, please PM me

Well, since we're on this subject I'd like to add something to this, since we're all one big family of friends here(at least I think/should be)it would be nice to know a little bit about who we are having a conversation with, you could be talking to your next door neighbor and not know it, would just be nice to know who you're talking to, don't need underwear sizes or anything, LOL, just a location even would be nice!...

Don, I'd like to know who he is. I asked him in a PM and got no reply. He "seems to remember" more of what I did than I do. (at least I'm important to HIM!) I don't mind the "poking fun stuff", (I get and give it all the time) but I don't hide my name or location. Like me or not I'm here, where are you?

Well RR..... If Elvis or Bill Bixby were on here discussing v-drives, they'd probably appreciate being anonymous since they are famous..... I'd hope that they'd be polite so I wouldn't hafta ban them FOR LIFE!
P.S. before anyone writes to enlighten me, I AM aware that these two guys are deceased (allegedly)

AZ Don,
No arguement there,.....I was just commenting on the Elvis and Bill Bixby thing, since they were both in "Clambake", one of Elvis' movies, and my favorite because of the boats and boat racing footage.
Elvis' boat was Lou Brummet's "Rawhide", a cool boat indeed...

I WAS thinkin "Clambake" when I made reference to those two guys.... GOOD CATCH!
And Elvis had developed a special adhesive to glue that broken raceboat back together. Not satisfied with being a Texas oil millionaire or schlocky singer, he pantented his marine adhesive and it is today marketed as "Marine Tex".
I just can't figure out how a boat racing movie got a name like "Clambake" (?)

NO! It's a "Clambake movie" with a little boat racing in it. I think they just took the TOP 7 BRAINSTORMED NAMES they had for this movie and put them together, #1 Underaged Clam o rama, #2 Spicy Taco in my Bikini, #3 Half baked "Elvis world", #4 Elvis races boat on trailer, #5 Elvis and the 49 other Dorks on the beach #6 Elvis puts his thumb in the hole and saves the day! #7 Elvis gets lucky! (again) HA HA!

AzDon, and the rest of the board: I just want to say here that I eagerly and willingly would like to apolgize for the (Texas) comment. It wasn`t dirrected at anybody at all,it was just a funny statement that has been said for years. I realize that like Don said, being on line is completly different than being in person (People sometimes don`t know where you are coming from), and in this day and time things are different than 10 or 20 years ago. So without anymore rambling I appologize for the statement and will never let it happen again. This is a great site with a bunch of great guys, carry on. PS, Don I appreciate your endurance with me.
