Wow--I was just wandering through cyberspace and stumbled on this site. Looks like a fun place to visit. I got the disease nearly 40 years ago when I bought my first boat while still in high school. Since then I have owned about 20 boats (mostly jets), and just love to boat and talk boats. Well, I recently had an awakening, and purchased a 20' Sanger v-drive mini cruiser with BBC/Turbo 400. Most of my jet boat buddies have accused me of treason or worse, but I realize that they, too, would really like to v-drive when they grow up. It's just a matter of time--kind of like training wheels on a bicycle.
I also have an old 1968 Sanger 17'-10" flat (SBC/Powerglide) for next winter's project.

I was born in Sanger, and lived down the street from the original Sanger Boats, so I've always had that connecton and a real affection for these classic hot rods. I currently splt my time between Clovis(Fresno) and Shaver Lake, so if any of y'all are coming my way, give me a call.

Welcome!

'Does Shaver still have those BOULDERS scattered throughout the lake just under the surface that are as big as PLANETS?

The first and last time I boated there with a prop boat those things were frightening when you suddenly found yourself passing over or near one.

The rangers passed them off as "no big deal" just coming and going with the fluctuating lake depth.

The waterfall there was pretty cool though...

Yep, they're still there. You just have to know where they are located and stay away. But even with the boulders and the elevation (5500'), Shaver Lake, with its perfect weather, pleasant water temp, clear air, and nice campgrounds, is a great place visit.
