Hi Guys,
Don't know if you can help me, I have a flywheel off a 327 that I would like to machine the front face approx 1/8" (Remove the step for the smaller clutch) and redrill the pressure plate holes to suit the bigger clutch I have.
The back off the flywheel is scalloped somewhat but is an original GM part.
The engine won't turn above 5500 and all machine work is free.
Cheers

Too bad you're on the other side of the world,:D a local machine shop should be able to take care of that for ya!.

RR, I just reread my original post :o What I wanted to ask is, will doing this machining harm or jeopardise the integrity of the flywheel.
I have access to a machine shop so that isn't the issue.

Ok gotcha!.. Well, I know a lot of people that have done it and had no problems, but personally I won't do it, to me it's like turning down brake drums/rotors beyond spec, I would just get the correct one, but that's just me you do what you feel comfortable with!..
