Beautifull boat! Please test run the boat without that air scoop. I have found those scoops don't allow enough air into the carbs at speed. Way back, I rigged a flat boat with a real Dick Landy 426 Hemi in it (Pete Holm). It was stock bore and stroke (426") and had 2 X 750 Holleys on a tunnel ram. With the "BDS" air scoop it ran 5400 RPMs, and without that air scoop it ran 7100 RPMs. ANY VACUUM above the booster venturies, destroys the carb's tune up. My rule of thumb is 3 times the carb opening size is what you need to maintain "tune up". Example: two carbs with 1" throttle plates each. 1" X 8 = 8". 8" X 3 = 24" of opening on the scoop. Please measure out your set up, try my method and report back to all of us. Thanks!

Larry should be running his boat at Dexter Lake tomorrow. CDBA is racing this weekend. Not my cup of tea :D, but I well go up and watch him run, and report back. The boat look better in person!

I was going to do that but forgot about it until you reminded me, thanks for the reminder.

Is this the boat that ran the 1/2 shake down pass on sunday toward the end of the day?

Yes, this is the boat. I ran a full pass at the end of the day but it was short of my expectations due to a timing error and my inattention to trap location. but the boat and motor felt good. I'm going to make some minor changes and will be there for the 'test and tune' in July. :)
