Thanks for the welcome.
I'll see if I can find pics & figure out how to post them.
Suffering from tempory insanity I sold it to a friend. To make a long story short- the boat was sitting while we were gathering parts to "fix" a pretty spectacular grenade (popular vote had me as the most impressive "bang!" until Scotty Lumbert blew up his BFJ) while racing up in Guelph, Ont. I had just started a new business venture which was requiring nearly all of my time, the ADBA had just been sold so all the races were now far south & west of MI. and a friend had been bugging me for it...in a moment of weakness I sold it.
I miss it - it was a great boat...heavy enough to river and pick on the outboard jockeys & still be safe...safe of course being a relative term.
Which is how I ended up here...biz is starting to roll, the kids are older & I'm getting the itch again...I've even got "clearance from the tower"..now I've just gotta figure out what I really want. I don't think I want training wheels, and I had a Jimmie Johnson Cheyenne splash and while it was a nice boat, I got bored with the jet...it was just point & pull the trigger, not much driving to it once you got it rolled over on plane.
So I'll lurk and ask questions...
Thanks again for the warm welcome.

If your ready to pull the trigger I'm going to look at an extra v-drive a guy has for sale. He also has a Cole TR-2 less motor for sale. I can take some pics when I look at the v-drive if your interested...:D...Hell I might just take some pics anyhow and post them...;)...supposed to be real nice...

I was wondering who this was from W Mi. but when I saw the JJ Cheyenne and your name I knew.
I bought the JJ Cheyenne from you back in 1999 ?
Went to a TPR Stealth and now I'm on my first v drive, a 21 Eliminator Daytona.
If you're looking for a boat a friend has a REAL NICE 21' Cougar V drive tunnel for sale for 25k. He's in Ann Arbor and has not advertised it.

Hey Mark...hope all is well.
Thanks for the info re. the cougar. I'm not sure what I want.
The reality is I'm probably not going to drag it to the races & I'd like a little better ride than the runners & flats give. I also don't need to get hurt and since there are only 2 kinds of flatbottom drivers - those that have gone swimming and those that eventually will go swimming - I'm also old enough to realize that I'm not bulletproof anymore. The Kurtis went through the traps in the mid-10's at 119 & since I deal very poorly with peer pressure self restraint is not an option...I'll drive it as fast as it will go.
So I need something cool, but not fast.
I thought about some sort of ski hydro, but you can't make the dang things turn, and the ones I've seen that will turn, aren't very fast. A slow hydro is about like and unloaded gun. I dunno what good it is. And...the wife's cousin Tim (capaldi) was killed in a hydro and even though it woudl be a whole different animal...it's still a hydro to her.
I also don't think I want something as big as a cougar or daytona.
I saw the Jim Miller stuff here and have a serious case of lust...beautiful stuff.
Thats kinda the way I'm leaning..some sort of Rayson craft GN style thing or old sanger ski flat...seating for 4 or 5... at least that's what I'm thinking today...my atttention span is so short who know's what tomorrow will bring.
Are you going to be up to Hardy this weekend?

I'll be at the Hardy party Sat and Sun.
The V drive tunnels are an incredible smooth ride in rough water.
This is the best boat I've ever had.
Rough riding Flats and Hydros are not for me and that's the main thing that turned me away from V drives for all the previous years.
Good luck on the boat search.
