I want to publically thank Marc for coming over to my house and fixing the chip in my Gelcoat and giving me a wealth of information on how to properly set my boat up and pointed out things to change and etc. He spent almost 4 hours over here repairing and going over my boat.

Isn't is nice when people give each other a hand and share some information? Good job...

That Marc is full of good advise, just some of us are stuborn and want to do it the HARD way. (our affordable way) And in my case, I am way too concerned about being Nostalgic with every aspect of my boat and the most important, CHEAP! Safety is a real concern as well.
My strut is an old 10 degree Nicson water feed bronze one and possibly original equipment for a 1970. I have debated for years if I should change it and cost stopped me in my tracks. Now, I have a good used steel 9 and I still cant wont redo all the hardware.......So, I remounted the old one and added a strut brace tied it to the engine rails and now I am wondering if I goofed! A bronze strut flexes I am told and now the brace wont let it. Am I in more trouble?? I guess Art and Marc will have a good laugh at Burley when I sink it chasing jet boats! I know, I have to load the thing up by myself!

Boyd, your boat is a true classic, and yes I am concerned with your Nicson strut with the hp you have. and No you wont have to load it by your self if it sinks.LOL

Marc, if you're open to questions, I've got a big scratch through five 3/8 inch wide strips that are all different colors. I assumed it was not repairable. True?

No worries Boyd, Buzzz and I will be there to help. If only we were ready to bring a boat up, we could have come out to play with you guys.

if your boat colors are solid colors with NO flakes in them you can repair it like I did with Larry's boat. email me a picture of what you have, and I can get a better Idea of how to go about it.
