Hit the lake, ran into many hot boaters out here. They are making a comeback. Great to hear them run. Hey Chris. If you read this messege, tell the people on the east end of the lake about the event at the lakeport park on june 21. I talked to Bob Silva. He is sending some stuff my way for the event. Ends up he has got permission for people to run on the circle, as long as they fill out the form and become a member of the APBA for the day. Registration for the show is at 7am for the boats. Just hope the lake stays high enough for this next month. Yolo County has been letting a lot of water out of the lake..

So what and where is this event going to happen???, is this an APBA circle race for points, what classes are they having????...

Lakeport, California at the Library Park June 21, 2008. Boat show, Ski Races and Circle races. Ski Races are for members of the Nor-Cal Ski Club. As far as the boat show and circle races, Bob Silva CSA APBA Region 11-12 is running that part. I talked to him on the phone last Fri. Basically he said anyone who has a pre-1987 inboard ski, race, etc boat can register in the show and/or circle races. 7am at the Park for registration. The Ski club will be running their boats in the morning. Then its open to the people who registered their boats to run the circle at 11:30am. I am pretty sure they will divide classes. Wouldnt be fair if a K-boat was running against a family ski...lol...

Also a pre-64 car show at the fairgrounds in Lakeport on the same day. Culture Shock Car Show I believe. Classics, Rods, Gassers.

Hi norcal..thankyou for these dates.. what a wonderfull roar we would have woke up to if you hadn't told us!..I will take the Ernie Orrin over and really look forward to sharing it with everyone!..I believe that there is the Old Wood and Glory Event next weekend (Lakeport)May 30,2008..I will try and confirm...Chris

Like you said Art, you do like those Willys.;) Gotta admit that's pretty nice, wonder how close it is to a race A/Gasser? All four wheels are on the ground so probably not too close.:D

I would say it's just a street cruiser looking like a gasser, if it were mine I'd have to have a blower and a Hilborn upright 4 holer on it, that would make it a 100%!..:D

I really wish it was not the weekend before Burley or I would be there in a heart beat ! If I can find a lil Ranger or something that gets 20+mpg I will see if I can swing it ! It sure would be nice to run on clear lake again.

Nice pics, a modern (cookie cutter) pro stock car would blow any of the blown gassers away, but could never match the visual impact they had.

Art you know being the Point Leader I just can't not go and expect to keep my position. So yes we are bringing our lil redneck 429 and the Sanger Custom Sprint Jet up to Burley to hang on a bit longer.
