Irvine Lake / Other So.Cal Meet Dates 2008

A friend mentioned today he heard of a V-drive meet at Irvine coming up in a few weeks but I saw nothing posted here... which I thought odd. I was just wondering if this was true, and or if I already missed the Irvine Regatta this year, or what the dates are for it. Or if anybody has dates for other gatherings in the southern california area, post them up.

Of course up to Don and the other admins, what about creating a Forum/Sub-Forum to post Events and organize Gatherings?

Just throwing out ideas...

Paul and I will be there on Saturday. Maybe the entire family, but not sure just yet. I would not miss these K boat guys running their boars and running their mouths for the world!!!
The K-69 will be there with Grody driving. A few other guys calling him out saying that their boats are faster than his kilo running wonder. 146mph kilo record is pretty fast. The 110 may be faster, and seems to set quicker, and a few others are showing signs of brilliance. Lots of power, lots of egos. Can't miss that.

A couple friends of mine from work will be tagging along. Jack Landers of NEC Electric, K-27 tells me he will be there as well. He tells me he got some changes on the hull that really make his great coming out of the turns... Jack and I have know each other for years. I only wish Bill Morris was still around ( built engines for him ) past years.
Anywho... We will try to get there early in the AM...

Guys, Since I couldn' t make it to Bass Lake I thought about bringing the boat to Irvine... I looked on their website and didn't see any info on getting your boat in? I read the add on the start of this thread and just wanted to get more info. Is anyone actually bringing their boat to this event? I plan to be there on Saturday with the wife and my dad. With or without the boat...

We won't have our "heap" there, but Buzzz my dad (The Doctor) and I will all be there Friday and Saturday. I will either be wearing a Wannaberacing shirt (with funnycars on the back) or the v-drive boat shirt (which has my avatar on the back). Buzzz and I will be carrying our big camera cases with us so we should stick out. If you see us please come introduce yourself. I am always excited to meet more people from the site.

The same goes for any lurkers, if you see us please come say hi. Although if you admit that you just lurk we will bug you about not posting.

It was a $100 to register your boat to run on the through out the weekend. I believe that registration is full. You can enter your boat in the show and shine for $15 and let people drewl over it. I was able to purchase a lake run registration for my 76 Kurtis but i bought a crackerbox 3 weeks ago, so i will only be able to show and shine the cracker.
