So, wife and I are going to a wedding in Portland last weekend in June then cutting accross to our place in Colorado. What kind of races are these at Burley? Must draw a pretty big group are rooms are a little thin.

Thin? There are some rooms left?!!
That is the only reason we have not purchased our tickets is that we thought the entire town was sold out.
Burley is the Mecca for circle boat racing. A weekend of family fun, lots of people and lots of great racing. I was told that I could miss lots of the races, but not to miss Burley.

It's a once a year deal and it's a blast. Actually it starts Thurs night with the fish fry and boat show in Rupert, something not to miss!..

Art there have been some changes about the show and shine and the fish fry. They are not in Rupert the venue has changed to another Bar and Grill in Burley from what Mark Moyle has told me. I don't remember the name of the place though.

"thin" was a bit tongue in cheek. We couldn't get there till late Sunday afternoon so I guess we'll reign the truck in around Boise or so. Would imagine it would be a sight to see.

Burley in the west, Valleyfield in the east. If anyone of you can make it out
here it is something to see as well. Three days of racing, they say the total attendence over the three days is 150,000. It was enough to bring Bud and Virginia Allerton coming back. RIP Bud, wish you could make it one last time.

Brian, it was in the works while he was in the hospital, he called me at Burley and said he would like to make Burley and Valleyfield one last time this year, and if the boat could be ready he said he had a driver in mind, I told him if you want to go we'll go and it will run, he was real happy when he hung up!...

Well you could say that or you could look at it as some one made some people happy. Rumor has it that the town of Rupert wouldn't kick any $$$ to help sponsor racing or racers so a guy that owns another Bar & Grill offered to throw some $$$ in for sponsorship plus sponsor the show and shine. So the promoters went where the money is. Cant Blame them.

Louis, really, a "bar and grill" in Burley?.......Hmmmm, I guess it could happen.....Must be on the outskirts of town because the sidewalks roll up downtown about dusk......LOL....As far as Rupert goes, I guess you don't know what you have until you don't have it anymore.......More power to the guy who kicked a few bucks into the racing effort, I'll be more than happy to support his business while I'm there.........Ray

Here is the final turn of the same race, the two yellow aquacrafts have now caught up to SS396 and his Sanger lightweight. I call it 'Blanket Racing'! The inside boat won by 3 feet with myself about a boat length behind. This was our first GPS NE race in preparation for Burley. Unfortunately, out of this class, I am the only one procurring vacation time off. One more shot of Greaser flying her 2300 Lbs:

2007 racing trim with tunnel ram and zoomies. Wing is removed so I can gas the thing! The K class designation is my attempt to create a Nostalgic class for naturally asperated examples that ran 'K' before blown alcohol was perfected or made dependable. Most K boats of old had multiple carbs or fuel injection. I suppose APBA will make me put 'NE' in its place.......

Thank you my friend and I hope things work out your way so we can meet next year.
I just received word from Burley that there are three to four Cali boats coming so that makes 6-7 entries to share the tow money with. I'll donate another $100 so that makes $400 to split, anyone else like to help?
