hello again, when i stripped my boat i damaged one of my through hull fittings, and i can't work out which ones two order from the glenwood catalogue. There are two of them, they are attached to braided hose which goes to the water pick up in the cav plates.
In the Glenwood catalogue they have two ( as far as i can see)

1 - Through hull fitting No. 10 - AN 22352 #539

2 - Through hull fitting No 12 - AN 22354 #540

How do i measure which fitting i have ?
i also want to buy the braided hose for this as well, so i need to work out which one matches. I wish i could just go down to the local store and compare them, but it looks like i'll have to buy them over the internet or phone

thanks in advance, i just don't want to order the wrong parts!

AN fittings and hose are measured in 1/16th's of an inch. IE: a # 10 fitting or hose will measure 10/16 or 5/8" in diamiter. Just measure the OD of your old hose or the ID of the hose end of the compression nut to se what size you need.

thanks, i'll give that a try, really did not want to order the wrong parts. I'm not to good with inches but i'm learning as all of my boat is in imperial

i have been around a few shops, but they mosty cater to the standard type boats, nothing like the original equipment i have on mine. i have seen the exact (or at least they look that way) pieces on the internet in the states. Even things like the aluminium stringer washers- i had many shop keepers telling me they must have been custom made! i just ordered some online. i like to buy local but i want my boat to be like it was made the first time.
i'm not really mechanically minded - so i'm pretty crap at measuring - or at least identifying what size a bolt is - let alone a thread type, but i'll get there eventually, even if i have to order the wrong things a few time ha ha.
I really appreciate all the help i get here, if not for this place, my boat would probably have gone the way of my last decent old car - sold unfinished:D

Grayson, once you have your thru-hull fittings, just head down to your nearest speed shop, they will help you out with the hose fittings. If you have time, Aeroquip fittings, and more particularly braided hose, can be sourced more cheaply through someone like Motor Traders or even Enzed... depending on your local franchisee.

thanks, i'll still order those partcular hull fittings through glenwood- they look exactly like what i had, but for sure i'll take them to the local speed shop for the braided hose.
thanks fellas
