I have the gauges drilled, the tanks in, strut and whip strut in, fins, shaftlog, steering wheel, rudderbox, down plate, the plate above that with the bearings, V drive, cleats and gas fills.
I'm gonna put the engine rails in saturday and do some measuring on the steering.
Next week I'm dragging it to Parker to have Outlaw put some numbers and pinstriping on it.
I found some cool urethane that I'm contact cementing to the backs of all the mounting surfaces .030" thick 90 durometer. Things snug up nice but no issues with scratching or cracking. Should keep the vibrations down a bit also.
I had an idea about the rudder...on PB guys were seeing how many keepers they could put on their rudder:D...just being a smartass.
I was thinking that if I put a SS washer over the rudder box, then cut a 2" aluminum tube with a 1" hole to fit between the rudder box and the quadrant there'd be no room for it to move. I'd cut one side lenghthwise and drill and tap it...a 6 (or 8 or whatever) inch keeper. Just that and one over the top bearing.

Heck you're way ahead of me, I have a lot of the stuff made and the hardware but it's not installed yet, right now I need to turn the boat over to line up the strut then make a new strut block, but right now I'm buried and can't get to the boat to turn it over!...:mad:
