Stripping down the hull, got the Cav plate hardware off the transom.
Cant seem to get the trumpets off the transom.
The nuts and studs are off the rubber hose is off the exhaust manifolds but cant get the trumpets off.
I have tried to pry(but not too hard) twist, push and pull.
Not wanting to hurt anything. I'm am at a dead end.
Do i just lay on them harder or twist them more,or ????

That's very common, they are siliconed on and they are a bitch to get off sometime, just have to work at it, they'll come off!.

Just don't get too aggressive and pull the gel, once it starts to pull away you can use solvent to soften it up, solvent loves silicone!..

Which solvent would you suggest?

There's only one that I know of and it's just mineral spirits, just like Safety-Clean and them uses. Gas loves silicone too but it's nasty!..

if they are siliconed in, try heating them up, we had some on a boat last year, that would not budge. The heat some how, broke the silicones bond, and they came off quite easy.

That's good to know, never thought about heat on silicone if it would work!.. Hopefully they weren't sealed in with Marine-Tex though, that can be a real bitch!..

They came off with a little bit of leverage. Didn't pull any gel, but the guy who took them off last time did. Repair time, Oh well.
Thanks Guys

Glad they came off good, most don't think when they take them off and just yank them and that's when it pulls the gel, shame when it does that!...
