I'm in the need of a new throttle cable bracket. Currently have a rigged up bracket bolted to an intake bolt courtesy of the previous creative person that owned the boat. While it did work for my first outing to break-in the engine it only yields me between 1/2 and 3/4 throttle and bends as you get further into the pedal. (my mother wants me to keep it as she prefers I keep it under 1/2 throttle! haha)
I know glenwood and rex carry 2 different types, one that mounts between the intake and the carb, and another one that mounts just on top of the carb on the throttle side only.
I have a push cable type throttle connected to a foot pedal, opening an 850 Demon sitting on a Performer RPM. I may or may not be adding a 2 1/2 inch aluminum spacer. Depends on how the boat reacts after some more testing.
Are there any advantages or disadvantages of either of the two? Does one or the other work better with or without a spacer? Are there other alternatives that I am not aware of that can be had before middle of next week?
thoughts and comments welcome.
