I've been going through the v drive cruiser I recently bought. Everything is pretty straight forward. Put a new intake and distributor on it, rebuilt the carb did some cosmetics, etc..
When I got to the water pump, hit a snag. I've had Neovane pumps running off the cam on my other v drive ski boats. This boat has a crank mounted pump. I haven't been able to identify it after much searching. The spare impeller that came with the boat is a Jacobs part, however none of the Jacobs pumps look like it. Would appreciate any help in IDing this thing.

Well, it looks like a Jabsco??, I don't remember a crank driven one though, to me it would spin way too fast, maybe that's why it isn't made anymore???, but most pumps use a Jabsco impeller, so it may not be a Jabsco pump???, any numbers stamped on it????..

Bill,
It is a Jabsco pump I was just looking at them on Glenwoods site. I don,t see the crank driven modle but there are other modles. You might just give them a call and talk to them.
Glad I could help you out with the pic thing. Nice talking to you again.

To me I would think at 7000 r's you'd wipe out the impeller, but I bet that pump has a standard drive on it and could be mounted on a timing cover!...

You're right Art, the thing is spinning twice as fast as the cam mounted pumps. But, running the boat in the driveway it doesn't seem to be moving a lot of water out of the pipes.
Thinking about the impeller speed and wear is what prompted me to investigate pumps. The boat has been running with this pump since it was built in 83 so I guess I'll give it a chance.
Gotta thank Louis for patiently leading me through the photo posting lesson.

Well If it's been there all that time I guess it works, wonder how many impellers have been replaced in that time??..

I have a similar looking pump on a Ski Centurion. It also runs off the crank and is used only as a lift pump for the standard automotive type pump. Keep in mind that this engine only see's 4K RPM.
The impellor mounts on a shaft that looks like a Torx bit and it gets removed every winter. I have been using the same one for 4 or 5 years and it still looks good.
