Does anybody know if the "River Reporter" is still being printed and if that Needles crew still has (non) events?
I haven't gotten an issue in probably two years.

Don, the non event is in progress as we type.......I haven't seen any river reporters for a few years, although I don't live there, we used to see them around Parker during the races, no more..........Ray

Maybe I have the name of the newsletter wrong. I'm not asking about the publication from Parker with the race info. I'm talking about the mailed newsletter of the SoCal group that used to have non-events (I think they were called vacations) in Needles.
The last Needles event I was aware of and attended was during a September week that would have been the Redrock (Parker) week in previous years. Maybe the newsletter was called the v-drive reporter(?)

The V-drive Reporter was started by a bunch of ex-classic v-drive club members who created their own newsletter. Kimbo Slingerland actually did the printing and there were several contributors.
When she got breast cancer she stopped doing them and I'm glad to report she beat the cancer.
Billy still holds a couple of Needles outings every year but its kinda tight lipped.

Bob:
That sticker means I have the "on kill" Rick King tune up! :D:D
He just happens to primarily be a Chevy guy but I am working on him....
He should see the light after doing the tune on your beautiful boat. It came out better than anyone could imagine.

Mike, Much as I'd love to I have to pass this year as the $$$ stars are not in alignment. This year so far is looking to be in the tank. Tell me more about your top secret Ford K motor...sure would be nice to see something other than another boring Bowtie. Kinda like watching IROC racing.

Beautiful boat, I'll bet your son will long remember the rides in it.
Leg room looks a little tight in the back... here's a Ford motor that would cure that problem.:D
What a neat lil' piece, is it for Midgets?

Art, The last time I fueled diesel was $4.80/gal. in San Leandro. I haven't turned a wheel in almost 2 weeks, mostly by choice. I'm waiting for rates and/or fuel surcharge to go up or fuel to come down. I don't want to sit the summer out but if I have to I will. Things don't break or wear out when its not being used so the Kenworth sits until it is more profitable to run it. Unfortunatly the insurance and registration goes on.

Oh man that sucks big time, yeah no sense in running if you can't make a buck. Hope things turn around soon, sure don't look like it though!..:(

I've heard the same thing from a couple of guys I know out here in NY. It's doesn't pay right now to run the truck.
I'm doing some work at one of the tank farms in Newark NJ near the airport, and there's a lot of trucks sitting idle, and a lot more Ethonal being shipped into the facility by railcar and Barge.
Norseman, What is the price of diesel on the east coast? $4.88/gal here in N. Cal.

NJ is running about the same as you are $4.70-4.90, NY state is 20-30 cents higher in the suburbs, I've seen 5.519 for diesel in the city.
I usually buy gas in NJ, but the station pumps lots of diesel for trucks, and it's hurts me when a fillup for 70.00, I can only imagine what it feels like to fill up a tractor and have it cost 700.00

My heart goes out to the truckers. I just retired from a satisfying career repairing truck transmissions and differentials and my industry is in for an extreme change. But nothing like the truckers themselves face. It is a shame that all the publicity is on the price of gas and the impact of of the "corn" when 95+% of our consumible commerce travels by truck. I know what it is going to cost to fuel up the cruiser and can hardly wait to fuel up next to one of the big 2 motor 2200 hp offshore boys as he takes on his 300 gal and then has to come in early to refuel. I would rather see a break for commercial diesel users than just sit back and watch our other expenses "trickle up". Hang in there. I've got to believe that the country is smart enough to figure out it needs to quit choking itself.

Well, you have to do something about the "GREED" first, there's a truck stop on I-10 out here that has two prices for diesel, one price for out front for pickup trucks and $hit, but go around back to the fuel island for big rigs and it's $.20 more, talk about a rip off!..:mad::mad:

It wouldn't bother me one bit to pull up to the "discount" pump in the KW and start pumping...all comes out of the same tank. Dark days to come 'cause its gonna get worse before it gets better.:(

My same thoughts too, just have to drop the trailer. Only pain there is if you use the card it only allows $75 at a time, but with that many gals I guess it's worth it for the savings!..
