I am looking for a cam driven water pump and timing cover for a small block chev. Second hand would be fine. What brands are available and approximate costs?

Thanks,
Darren

Gday paranoid,

Argo stuff is available new... www.kmrolco.com

Cam driven water pump is about $500AUS + timing cover.

You might pick one up 2nd hand thru Vic Drag Boaters?

Cheers.

Hi there Paranoid. Saw your boat & ute at Windsor on Sunday at the Bridge 2 Bridge. I hung around for a while but I didn't see you. I'm sure we'll run into each other some day.
Have a look on ebay. There is an argo cover & water pump for a chev sb. for around $400 I think. Or click onto the UHPBC site, click on the 'Links' then select NZ Grand Prix & click on the 'link' and select Aussie Power Boat Racers. There in the side menu is buy & sell click on that and see what you can find. If tunnelrunner reads this he might find a menkins prop too. Cheers Garry

Hey Paranoid I just had a thought... (I've just got to wait a sec till the pain goes, it hurts when I think sometimes) Cassell Marine often have stuff like this second hand on consignment. It might be worth a call to Paul or David. They're really helpful & their prices aren't too bad either. Good luck. Cheers Garry :confused::D:confused:

Be careful here. Most SBC cam driven pumps, water or fuel, are too large to use a harmonic balancer. A small drive flange works, but the balancer its self will hit the pump housing.....Just a caution before you buy without seeing it........MP

Thanks for the info guys, I will look into it. Garry, I was supposed to help with the tow boats but they had enough so the boat sat on the trailer. I was with the guys from Noiseworks and Delusional for the circuit races, pretty busy time in the arvo. Sure to catch up.

Hi there Paranoid.
Am I right in saying that those 2 boats run out of the BG motors camp? They both run hard.
I was with the boys from Eagle for a while & spent some time with She's the Culprit. No1 cylinder went off that's why there was a haze left. Plugs looked good, not lean, but somehow blew a head gasket... Bloody big blown motors...
Next big meet is at Dargle on the Queen's B'day long weekend. Sat & Sunday.
Might catch you there.
Cheers Garry:confused::D:confused:
