any of you guys used the high rise weiand team g intake manifold because my 427 has an old performer 2.0 dual plane manifold and i would like to change it over to the weiand, what are your guys thoughts?

Yes, the team G is not a bad intake. We had one on a 427 that seemed to work OK. What heads, cam, and RPM do you plan on running?

to be honest i have to pull the manifold off, i just got the boat and i dont even know if its oval port or square port heads, and as far as the cam goes i dont know the specs cause i didnt build the motor but its not a huge lopey cam, i would like to see if i can run the motor around 5500 rpm or so nothing crazy, but i am taking it out in two weeks so i will see where its running. and its only running a 750 double pumper with mech. secondaries. he told me its running somewhere around 11.5 to 1 pistons or it will ping with anything less than 91 octane. i dont want to get too crazy with the engine but something nice and usable, my buddy works at teague marine and he can get the hardin marine manifolds at a good price but dont know much about that manifold, the team g seems to have a pretty good usable power range, but hey thats why i am asking the pros lik you guys. thanks pilot.

In my opinion I would leave the Performer 2.0 on it. The performer is a dual plane manifold that is designed to run between 1500-6500 rpm's. The Team G is a single plane with a rpm range of 2000-8000. The Duel Plane is a better all around manifold when it comes to performance in the idle to 5500 rpm range. The single plane is more of a mid to upper rpm range manifold. If you only plan on turning 5500 rpm's in the first place then the Team G would be a waste of time and effort. From what you say about the engine with the 11.5 to 1 compression ratio it might turn 6500 rpm but if the cam doesn't sound very lopey then the cam could govern it to only 55-5800 rpm's. With out the cam specs there is rally no way to tell other than run it and see.

I agree.

Hey Louis, The TeamG also comes in a dual plane, I have one!. Just FYI!..:D

Well I was basing of of what I looked up on Summit & Jegs web sites and I didn't see the dual plane versions. All being said for the rpm range and the performance range he is looking at there is no need to change his intake . But it never hurts to have more knowledge.

what about an Eddie AIR GAP manifold?
its dual plane w/a lill more rise to it

I don't think they make those anymore, at least I haven't seen any in quite some time!... I agree though, I wouldn't change manifolds either!..

well when i take her out i will see what rpm's shes turning, and i will see then. what do you guys know about phenolic spacers, snake oil or do they work, i know from building imports that the less heat soak the intake manifold gets the more power you can make, however since the engine is outside in the open and not under a hood would it really make much of a difference? also i cant find a dual plane team g manifold anywhere, even on there site, was it an older model?

Yes I think they are discontinued, I haven't seen one advertised in a long time, they are probably around used. I still think the one you have is a very reliable candidate for what you are going to use the boat for.

I have been looking at the performer rpm air gap, it looks like a nice intake with the best of both worlds.

Yes I've used the oval port version with a pair of 781's and the rectangle port one with a set of 990's. I liked both of them on my flat the oval port worked real well from 2500-6500 with 258/267@.050" and the rectanle port worked well from 3000-7200 with a 268/278@.050".

Have you considered the Weind Stealth? It's got real good numbers for a mild build.... we used one on my brother's 454 and were happy with the results.
