Hurricane

Hurricane was my previous screen name, so I'll stay with it.
I selected Hurricane, because as a family in 1964/65 my dad purchased a
Bob Warren Hurricane bare glass hull mahogany short/mid deck flatbottom. Dad did the installation himself and with my uncle (of course at 11/12 yrs I was quite the technical advisor).
Powered by a FE 427, driving a Hallcraft v-drive with 14% over gears from the flywheel (Art, I know, backwards, you're right:D). Prop was 11.5 x 15
ni-bral (sp) 3 blade for sking, 2 blade steel for playing. Engine was
set well back towards the transom for room, strut angle was 10/12 degrees,
so it porpoise, but from the seat, pull the Finishline cavatation hardware down
that rascal would turn to the right very well.
Lakes Nacimento, San Antonio were our primary sking trips.
I hope to read/reread about the Biesemeyer flatbottom and it's development.
Just may have to talk to Joey Cucci some day.
As said by others great site.
