I,m working on my first V-Drive, so you guys will have to help me with my novice dumb questions! PLEASE...
I'm at the point on my Stevens rebuild where I need to put the hardware back in.
What do you guys recommend to seal components that go through the hull?
Thanks in advance for you help. Here's a couple of pics where I'm at right now. My pinstiper will be over this weekend to put some lines down and the lettering, then it's home stretch on assembly!

The guys at Rex Marine recommended Sea Goin' 'Poxy Putty. It's a two part epoxy that's really stiff.

Good shit. A bitch to clean up though. I was told by one of our members that WD-40 takes it off.
Gm 5200 or 4200 depends on type of seal both are very good the 4200 is easier to remove than the 5200. The 5200 has the ability to remove weak gelcoat and or fiberglass with it if not removed carefully.........4200 i find is a good all around waterproof adhesive sealant.
Just my 02 worth.......

I would use the 5200 for under water stuff that will not have to be removed as sometimes the gel/fiberglass comes off with it. The 4200 works great for the other stuff.......

Thanks for the help, I picked up some 5200. My pinstriper is coming in the morning and once he's done, I can button up all the hardware.
It's the little sugestion like you guys make that are a big help to us novices!
Thanks once again to v-driveboat!
Keith
