View Full Version : Uh, we're back.
Wow, it's been a long, tiresome few days, but I'm happy to announce that v-driveboat.com is back in business. We've lost a pretty big chunk of our database along with all my 8th-grade custom programming work, which is a huge bummer. We've decided to start fresh with updated software; this will just have to be a work-in-progress for the next few months.
Bottom line for you all: You'll need to re-register. I'm sorry for that but couldn't find a good way around it.
The good news is that now we are hosting this Web site out of my dad's house. This will give me better access to do backups and proper maintenance. It also means that our site isn't sharing a server with a hundred other sites, which theoretically should speed it up a bit.
Anyway, stay tuned for more updates as we try to get things back to normal.
Thanks for your support!

We appreciate that grayson, but we don't have the Insider functions back online yet. When we do, we're going to make sure that everyone who was subscribed gets added back in, and...didn't that include you?

When we say that we lost everything, we are only referring to the content that was stored online..... I have two shoeboxes of pictures from before we got a digital camera and I still have the wiring schematic and bench seat diagram. We WILL reproduce the ratio/pitch/speed/rpm calculator and the ratio wizard as well as the text for the wiring, woodworking ( boat furniture), and transmission articles. I found enough pictures of the woodworks in my daycruiser, while under construction, to effectively illustrate an article. New ideas we might try include a registry of COMPLETE setup dimensions from every member's boat (who chooses to participate) I'm also going to show how fairly nice looking aluminum parts can often be made using simple hand tools. The classified ad section will, again, be a privelege of "Insider" membership.

Great new look guys!
Ditto on the subscriber info...I know how much work setting these things up can be.
Thankyou for your efforts

164 members in just 14 days!
Insider will have an improved drivetrain calculator and ratio wizard up within a couple of days
If you've noticed any of your pictures disappearing, Nick has been deleting any pics not containing a v-drive boat or related hardware..... want to post a pic of your hotty GF or your 2yo or your dog?... they need to be posed with a boat! Reason is: Nick is going to have pics rotate to the front page eventually!

That would explain the pics of my Dads car deleted that I posted. I only posted them to show the paint in conjuntion with a thread. Keep up the awsome work on here.
Thanks Brian

In a case like that just host your pic on an image site and link to it, or upload it right from your machine!..

So that's what's happened!!!
I went away overseas for a while and I come back and my information world has disapeared!! I cried myself to sleep for a whole week! :p
So no chance at an Archive for the old info?
I knew I should've written that stuff down! I was building my engine one Art post at a time, now I'm going to have to remember everything he ever wrote and my brain hurts just thinking about it!
Oh well, I've got a Gen VI BBC to worry about now! Game On!!!:D

I have been to those other places, and was excited when this site came back up. I appriciate the knowlege and the willingness to help. I also like the fact that all here are straight forward gentleman, a little fun and small jabs...but all in good taste and none of the BS drama.
Thank You...All of you.
